Our Roastery Shop and Refill Station

In autumn 2022 we moved our roastery to unit on the beautiful Denbies Wine Estate in Dorking, Surrey, overlooked by the world-famous Box Hill.

A section of our roastery is open to the public, and it is wonderful to meet so many of our fantastic customers and put faces to names - plus of course to introduce a whole new crowd to Chimney Fire Coffee. Throughout the week there is always a member of our team on hand to help you choose your ideal coffee, plus to offer advice on all things coffee related!

Our roastery shop is open Monday to Saturday, 9am-5pm. It is always stocked with coffee options to suit every taste and brew method, alongside equipment, gifts, and branded merchandise.

The Chimney Fire Coffee Refill Station

That’s right, we are now able to offer refills of five of our most popular coffees, priced by weight.

This is an important step for us on our journey to minimising our packaging waste - simply bring your own container with you, and you’ll only be charged for what you can fit inside, however much or little that is! Refill prices are set to the equivalent of 10% off our pre-packaged bags, so quantities over 1kg are still cheaper by weight (this can be spread across multiple containers if you don’t have one big enough).

We are keen to encourage our local customers to take advantage of this system, to help us reduce our impact on the environment.

There’s lots to do at Denbies - be that Mole Valley Parkrun on a Saturday morning, visiting the cafés and restaurants within Denbies (now serving our coffee, of course!), taking a tour on the land train, or simply rambling along the many paths and tracks that criss-cross the estate.

One of our favourite things to do is to take a walk (or a ride) up the track towards Ranmore Common, where from the shoulder of the hill you can take in beautiful views of the whole vineyard and see across the valley to the world-famous summit and viewpoint at Box Hill.

Coffee Storage Containers

What makes a good coffee storage container?

More or less anything with an airtight lid! From a fancy Kilner jar down to a plastic takeaway tub, anything will do as long as it doesn’t let fresh air in and you store it in a cool dark place - a cupboard is fine, it doesn’t need to fit in the freezer.

Oxygen is the enemy of coffee, and there are a few clever coffee containers out there which help minimise oxygen contact. We love using food-safe, recyclable CoffeeVacs to store our coffee, as their simple one way valve design pushes oxygen out when you close the lid, creating a vacuum inside. They’re on sale online and in our roastery shop for £17.95, with a 10% discount if you fill it with coffee from our refill station.
